Jorja Smith - Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool 08.02.2018
Jorja Smith was supported at Invisible Wind Factory by acoustic-soul songstress Mahalia. She is best known for featuring on the Rudimental track 'We The Generation' and starring in the 2016 film Brotherhood. As a solo artist, she is rising to fame through YouTube, with her stripped-down renditions of 'Sober' and 'I Remember' gaining millions of views. Mahalia’s latest single 'Proud Of Me' featuring Little Simz is out now.
This year’s BRIT Critics Choice Award winner, Jorja Smith is set to have a trailblazing year ahead. The 20 year-old singer from the West Midlands debuted in 2016 with Dizzee Rascal-sampled 'Blue Lights' followed by her first EP, 'Project 11', later that year. 2017 would bring her further into the spotlight after collaborating with Drake on the track 'Get It Together' for his latest album, 'More Life'. In 2018, Smith goes from strength to strength with the tear-jerking track, 'Let Me Down' featuring Stormzy. She has also secured a spot on Marvel’s critically acclaimed Black Panther soundtrack with the song 'I Am'. Look out for Jorja next week when she performs with Rag’n’Bone Man at the BRIT Awards. She will be the first Critics Choice winner to do so in the same year of winning the award. Tickets for her next tour in October go on sale this Friday.
