Camila Cabello - O2 Academy Birmingham 06.06.2018

Camila gets us underway with 'Never Be The Same', which is sang right back to her by her army of fans, and this doesn't let up for literally the whole concert, she later goes on to say that 'this is the loudest crowd that have ever sang with me', and the beaming smile that she keeps on giving shows just how much it means to her. Cabello is also supported by a brilliant dance crew, who really bring some personality to the concert, rather than just being an accessory to Camila.

The highlight of the set for me comes in the form of 'Bad Things', a song that she collaborated on with Cleveland Rapper 'Machine Gun Kelly', the single was one of her first major successes as a solo artist, and her performance of it here sees her take on some of the rapping duties as well, showing her versatility. Between songs Camila often takes time to speak to the crowd, and shows her role model side as she preaches self love and respect on a few occasions.

The singles from her album keep coming thick and fast, and 'Real Friends' sees her bring some of her friends up on stage from the crowd to help her out, whilst during 'In The Dark' she actually asks the audience to be quiet, and steps away from her mic and sings a capella. Inevitably it is the mega hit 'Havana' that brings the night to a close, with the whole venue bursting into one big roar as soon as we hear the piano intro.

Still only 21, and with much bigger and better things destined for Camila, tonight I really felt like I was in the presence of an international superstar in the making, and her upcoming arena dates supporting Taylor Swift are surely just a taste of what's to come for her here in the UK.
