Spotlight: '2000 Trees Festival 2019'

2000 Trees is known for being one of the UK's coolest festivals, and one that prides itself on its diverse range of music. As always, 2000 Trees boasts an impressive line up this year, packed with talent all the way through. Here at 3 Songs & Out we have taken a close look at the line up and have picked out our 10 bands that we think you should check out, we've tried our best to stay away from the larger bands and headline acts and have listed artists that we feel are on the rise right now.

DREAM STATE

After a huge 2018, which included picking up Kerrangs! Best British Breakthrough award and the release of their very successful EP 'Recovery', Welsh outfit DREAM STATE are a band well and truly on the up. Join singer CJ Gilpin as she takes you on an emotional rollercoaster of a set, exploring some of her past struggles and more, not to be missed!

Holding Absence

Wales seems to be home to a lot of new talent right now, and Holding Absence are a fine example of one of arguably the best up and coming bands that the UK has to offer. Their self titled debut album released earlier this year, and the consequent tour sold out shows all over the place. Their music has a special way of striking a chord with your emotions, and is absolutely best witnessed 'live and in colour'.

Loathe

f Holding Absence tickle your fancy, you'll want to keep an eye out for Loathe too. The pair put out a joint EP 'This Is As One' last year, much to the approval of fans of both bands. Expect dark and heavy vibes with Loathe, and a heart-stopping show to go with it.

VUKOVI

If a little bit of weird and wonderful is what you're after, look no further than VUKOVI. The new material that this bunch have been putting out recently sounds like some of their finest work to date, and we'll really be in for a treat when we see singer Janine Shilstone bring them to life, she really is one hell of a performer.

NORMANDIE

Swedish Alternative Rockers NORMANDIE are well worth checking out, their recent release 'White Flag' comes as a welcomed follow up to their brilliant debut 'Inguz'. These guys are full of energy and know how to get a crowd going!

The Bottom Line

Pop-Punk outfit The Bottom Line are well worth keeping an eye out for. They've been around for longer than you probably think, with their last full length album being back in 2012, but their 2017 EP 'I Still Hate You' and their recently released singles prove that they are very much a band on the rise.

YONAKA

YONAKA seem to be popping up everywhere recently, and for good reason. A host of festival appearances as well as huge tours with DON BROCO and Bring Me The Horizon have certainly helped put them on the map. With their debut album having only just released, 2000 Trees will be one of the first opportunities to hear the new material. Soon to be huge!

Blood Youth

Definitely one of the heavier bands to feature - Blood Youth go hard. Latest release 'Starve' has worked wonders for them, putting them on the map in the Hardcore scene. If getting a spin-kick to the face in the pit is your thing, these guys are for you.

Hands Like Houses

Probably one of the larger bands included in this list, but I feel they're worth a mention as I feel they fly under the radar and perhaps go a little unfairly unnoticed to the masses. Hands Like Houses have been around for a hot minute - now 4 albums deep into their career, with the most recent 'Anon.' being home to some absolute bangers, go see them!

Comeback Kid

Formed in 2002, Comeback Kid are the by far the oldest band to feature on this list, which is testament to how much new talent we have thriving and being shown off at 2000 Trees this year. Make no mistake though, Comeback Kid well and truly have no trouble keeping up the pace, just check out 'Surrender Control' from latest release 'Outsider' if you need any convincing, damn!
