Fast Blood Release Video For New Single 'Sunny Blunts'

Newcastle indie-punks Fast Blood are pleased to share the video for their new single ‘Sunny Blunts’.

The single is the title track from their acclaimed debut album 'Sunny Blunts' which was released earlier this year and is out now via Sangre Rapida.

As the dust begins to settle on the release of Fast Blood’s debut LP and its first two singles ‘Sexual Healing’ and ‘Salvation’, the band have now given the album’s eponymous closing track the single treatment.

Adopting a far more introspective tone than their usual aggressive, frenetic barrage, the track begins with an eerie, gentle guitar refrain, over which vocalist Abigail Barlow dials down her usual venom and allows the beauty of her voice to soar. The song feels like a very deliberate change of gear from a band evidently keen to avoid pigeon-holes.

Commenting on the single, the band said:

“This is a deeply personal song, taking in a variety of themes such as nostalgia, youth, anger, resentment and pride. The track builds in momentum through its verses until reaching its anthemic crescendo.”
