Inhaler have become standard bearers for guitar based indie rock in recent years, building a large following and playing to increasingly large crowds but this album proves that there are no limits for them, no boundaries and no pigeonholing, they are just a great band, enough said!

There new album 'Open Wide', is now out, being released on the 7th of February.

It very much builds on what’s gone before, cementing Inhalers status as one of the best bands in the country right now but at the same time pushing a few boundaries.

Opening song 'Eddie In The Darkness' is a good solid opener, telling you what this band are all about, but I think it’s a bit overshadowed by what comes next.

Second track 'Billy (Yeah Yeah Yeah)' is one that is going to sound great live and will be a brilliant sing along tune. It feels like the kind of song a band who know they are on top of their game feel comfortable writing.

But straight away they pull out 'Your House', what a brilliant song! Slight hints of Goldfrapp but with a confidence that speaks volumes. It’s got a real wall of sound vibe to it, but also a bit of a 70’s rock vibe at times. It’s just tremendous! This is the sound of a band who know they have it and they are going to give you it in spades.

'A Question Of You' keeps the vibe building, this feeling that you’re listening to the first truly essential album of 2025. You just know already this is going to sound great live and that those lucky enough to be going to the bands upcoming sold out tour are in for a fantastic night out!

'Even Though' is a proper indie rock song, proof that they are better than pretty much any of their peers right now. This is a band with their sights firmly set on the prize and who are on their way to claiming it.

'Again' changes the vibe, slows it down but also makes it a little bit more intense, very much a phone out and torch on kind of song, It makes me wonder if there is anything this band can’t do, the answer appears to be no.

'Open Wide', the title track, has am almost dance vibe to it. When this gets played live, I can see some definite outbreaks of dancing and lots of singing along. The base and drums on this drive it whole giving a platform for the whole band to shine.

I’m not going to review the rest of the album song by song as you really need to go listen to it by yourself if you haven’t already, if you’re a fan I suspect it’s been on repeat since it came out! If you don’t know Inhaler yet this is the album to bring you in, make you part of their rise to the top rank of bands and make you discover that what you’ve ben missing from your life.
