Marisa And The Moths - 'Devil' Single Review

Marisa and the Moths have released a video for 'Devil' taken from their UK Rock and Metal chart topping album What Doesn’t Kill You released in 2024.

The video is stylish and intense which it really needs to be for this song, which is a beautiful piece of work which morphs from something highly melodic, almost soothing to something very menacing and back again. Marisa’s singing is beguiling and yet, when she makes her voice harsh, also a bit scary and intense, which I suspect is what she was going for.

We never completely focus on Marisa in the video, clearly deliberately, the vivid use of red throughout very much matches the feel of the song and the whole thing is a joy to watch and listen to. It’s the kind of song that slowly draws you in, makes you think its going to soothe you and then kicks you hard, if you haven’t heard it give it a listen or watch, you’re going to love it.

Marisa and the Moths are heading out on a headline tour soon, if you haven’t seen them yet they are a tremendous live band, go see them, you won’t regret it, this is a band who have taken their chance with this second album but who are also even better live than they are on record. We have been lucky enough to already have confirmation we will get to review one of the shows. The schedule is listed below, if you’re going to Leeds see you there! Marisa and the Moths are quickly going to graduate to much bigger venues, this may be your last chance to catch them in such intimate atmospheres, don’t regret that you didn’t, buy your ticket now!
